Vega on Fire: 5-for-5 for Los Angeles (NYP) Saturday, August 13th , 2050 Los Angeles (NYP) Dodgers center fielder Ramon Vega really lit up the West Virginia Black Bears with a 5-hit barrage today at Las Palmas Complex -- a performance that sparked the Dodgers to a 10-9 triumph. He shrugged off the performance after the game, saying "sometimes the ball finds outfielders, today the ball found some holes." Ramon Vega singled in the 1st, singled in the 3rd, singled in the 5th, hit a three-run home run off Cameron Williams in the 7th and singled in the 9th. This season Vega has banged out 50 hits in 205 at-bats for a .244 average with 4 home runs. He is getting on base at a .286 pace and his totals also include 24 RBIs and 24 runs scored. |
