Gonzales Bangs Out 5 Base Hits Thursday, August 18th , 2050 William Gonzales exploded for a barrage of base hits today at Everett Memorial Stadium. The Everett first baseman had a field day in the 12-4 triumph over the Vermont Lake Monsters, finishing 5-for-5. "My hitting philosophy is simple," he said. "I focus on just seeing the ball and I try to get a good pitch." Gonzales must have focused at least 5 times and apparently got some good pitches, too, leading to one of his best days ever with the bat. William Gonzales singled in the 1st, singled in the 3rd, singled in the 4th, doubled in the 6th and hit a solo-shot off Luis Stuit in the 8th. So far in 2050 Gonzales is batting .293 with 17 home runs, 49 RBIs and 47 runs scored. He has 87 hits in 297 at-bats and a .374 OBP. |
