Hits Galore: Schuler Drills 5 Hits Friday, August 19th , 2050 Arnold Schuler was at the head of a State College hit parade today at PK Park. The right fielder went to the plate 5 times and came away with 5 hits, sparking the Spikes to a 14-1 victory over the Eugene Emeralds. "I told the guys in the dugout, just be thinking about hitting the ball hard somewhere," the sweet-swinging Schuler told reporters after the game. "Seems like it worked out well for us today." Emeralds skipper Chris Rowley said later that the club gave up "too much plate." "Not the way we planned it," he said. "Every hitter in the league will rip you when you do that." Arnold Schuler singled in the 1st, singled in the 3rd, hit a two-run single in the 4th, singled in the 6th, walked in a run in the 7th and hit a two-run single in the 8th. For the year Schuler is batting .266 with 94 hits and 7 home runs. He has scored 43 times and driven in 47. |
