15 Ks for McKinney, Beats Eugene 15-0 Monday, September 19th , 2050 Aaron McKinney of the Hillsboro Hops put on a pitching clinic today at Ron Tonklin Field as he struck out 15 Eugene Emeralds in a 15-0 victory. McKinney, who is tied for 8th in the NL in strikeouts with 209, was simply magnificent as he held the Emeralds to 3 hits. He walked 2. "I felt okay at the beginning," McKinney said, "but eventually my fastball really started working. I also have to thank my catcher for calling a great game." When asked about McKinney's performance, Hops manager Brian Morrison shook his head and said, "Yeah, he was good out there today. He was dominating." In 26 starts this season McKinney has crafted a 15-5 record with a 2.46 ERA. |
