Cushman Blanks Connecticut, 5-0 Wednesday, September 21st , 2050 In an outstanding outing, Spokane Indians starter Kevin Cushman tamed the Connecticut Tigers with a 3-hit shutout at Senator Thomas J. Dodd Memorial Stadium today. The Spokane hurler went the distance, finishing with 8 strikeouts and 1 walk in the 5-0 win. "He had a lot of first-pitch strikes and kept us off balance with a lot of off-speed stuff," according to Connecticut manager Andy Garcia. "We just didn't get too many balls squared up today." So far this season Cushman has a 9-2 record, 12 starts, 87.2 innings, 86 strikeouts and a 2.87 ERA. |
