DuMire Gets Award for Relief Work

Rickey DuMire was a calming influence out of the Everett AquaSox bullpen this season.

His teammates and manager said he had a poised demeanor about him that was typical of someone much older and more experienced. His poise has paid off, as the 23-year-old turned in a sparkling season and has been named the winner of the McNamara Division Reliever of the Year for 2050.

The Kenmore, Washington native won the award with 3 saves in 50 relief appearances, 80 strikeouts in 103 innings and a record of 10-4 to go with his 1.75 ERA.

He received 27 first place votes out of a possible 30. Dave Vandehey of the Vancouver Canadians finished second in voting with 3 first place votes, while Shinya Ito of the Chicago (NYP) White Sox finished third.
