AL Awards Most Valuable Player Award, Kartosuwiryo Gets Prize

The future looks extremely bright for Addergoole Kartosuwiryo. At the age of 18, many players are still trying to find their way in Appalachian League.
Kartosuwiryo has not only found his way, he's already established himself as one of the game's brightest stars, today being named the winner of the American League Most Valuable Player Award.
"I didn't expect to hit .271 this year, that's for sure," the third baseman said.
The Pulaski Yankees star also put up a .377 on-base percentage this year, with 118 hits, 14 doubles, 5 triples, 68 home runs, 163 RBIs and 120 runs scored.
He received 13 first place votes out of a possible 30. Dan Trainer of the Princeton Rays finished second in voting with 5 first place votes, while Mark Noftall of the Bluefield Blue Jays finished third with 3 first place votes.
