Diaz 5-for-6 for Raptors
Thursday, September 8th , 2050
Fans at Lindquist Field got to see not only a home-team victory today, but also one of the most impressive feats of hitting of the season.
The Ogden Raptors outplayed the Chicago (APP) Cubs en route to a 19-0 win, but the standout was center fielder Alex Diaz. Diaz netted 5 hits in 6 at-bats and finished with a dynamite game line.
"Hey, we tried everything we could think of to get him out," Cubs manager Jose Sixtos said in postgame comments. "We threw everything but the kitchen sink against him and he hit it. Maybe we should've thrown the sink, too."
Alex Diaz hit an RBI single in the 1st, hit a solo-shot off Robbie Schoen in the 2nd, hit an RBI triple in the 4th, struck out in the 5th, hit a three-run home run off Justin Rodrigues in the 6th and singled in the 8th.
In the current season, Diaz has put up a .362 batting average with 130 hits, 22 home runs, 102 runs batted in and scored 101 runs.
