5-Hit Blitz by Smith Friday, September 9th , 2050 The 5th time is the charm -- at least for Terrell Smith. The right fielder for the Miami (APP) Marlins hit the milestone today against the Bristol Pirates, helping his club to a narrow 20-19 victory. Smith finished with a 5-for-6 line at the plate. "Smith was a tough out today," Bristol manager Kyle Attl told the press in the postgame interview. "If it weren't for him, I think we had this one." Terrell Smith hit a solo-shot off Erik Comito in the 2nd, hit a solo-shot off Erik Comito in the 3rd, hit a GRAND SLAM off Bill Cenci in the 5th, singled in the 6th, struck out in the 7th and hit a solo-shot off Kay Cooper in the 8th. Thus far this season Smith has hit .359 with 28 home runs, 90 RBIs and scored 72 times. |
