Princeton's Trainer Goes Ballistic with 5 Hits Saturday, September 10th , 2050 Princeton third baseman Dan Trainer had a big day at H.P. Hunnicutt Field today against the Orem Owlz. The 19-year-old, who is not typically considered a big threat with the bat, went 5-for-6 and led the Rays to a 16-0 triumph over Orem. "Hey, I'm as surprised as you guys are," Trainer said in his postgame comments, smiling as he scolded the press corps for underestimating him. "Maybe I'm not so bad at the plate after all." Dan Trainer hit a solo-shot off David Celestine in the 1st, grounded out in the 2nd, singled in the 4th, singled in the 6th, hit an RBI single in the 7th and hit a GRAND SLAM off Danny Weiss in the 8th. Looking at his present stats, Trainer has compiled a .326 batting average in 105 games with a .445 on-base percentage, while hitting 33 home runs and driving in 97 runs. |
