Hit Parade: Thomson Pops 5 Hits Sunday, September 18th , 2050 5 hits in a game is a rare thing, but Kingsport's Josh Thomson made it happen today against the Cardinals. Everything came together at the plate for the 21-year-old right fielder as he collected 5 hits in 5 at-bats -- and led the Mets to a 11-1 win at Hunter Wright Stadium. "I'm just out there to try and help the team win," Thomson said after the game, "I had some real good at-bats today. I made good, solid contact and luckily no one caught 'em." Josh Thomson doubled in the 1st, singled in the 3rd, hit an RBI double in the 4th, doubled in the 7th and hit a two-run single in the 8th. This year Thomson has socked 128 hits in 409 at-bats for a .313 average with 14 home runs. He is getting on base at a .449 pace and his totals also include 57 RBIs and 104 runs scored. |
