Collazo Belts 5 Hits Monday, October 10th , 2050 There aren't many who could be pro ballplayers and there are even fewer who could put up 5 hits in a day. Alex Collazo is one of those rare few, as he went 5-for-6 against the Bristol Pirates at Devault Memorial Stadium today. The monster effort from the 23-year-old right fielder helped the San Diego (APP) Padres take the win, 11-1. "We made some bad pitches and he took advantage of it," said Pirates manager Kyle Attl. "That's the game, though. Don't make mistakes and you'll win ballgames. Make mistakes and, well, you saw what happened today." Alex Collazo hit a solo-shot off Freddy Mulholland in the 1st, struck out in the 3rd, hit an RBI single in the 4th, singled in the 6th, singled in the 7th and singled in the 9th. Collazo is hitting .307 this year with 25 home runs, 97 RBIs and 117 runs scored. He has 146 hits in 475 at-bats, 90 walks and a .423 on-base percentage. Collazo has played in 126 games. |
