Dean in Command, No-Hits Twins Monday, October 17th , 2050 Jimmy Dean really did a number on the Elizabethton Twins at Detroit Tigers Complex today -- and that number was zero. The Detroit (APP) Tigers hurler had what he later called "one of the best moments of my life," tossing a no-hitter and leading the Tigers to victory, 17-0. "This is something special," Dean said. "I knew from the fifth inning that I had a no-hitter working. I tried to get it out of my mind, but you just can't. They have too many scoreboards in the park. They're everywhere you look." The right-hander faced only 30 batters in the no-hit gem, struck out 13 and walked 4. "We simply couldn't get any wood on the ball," Elizabethton manager said when asked about the epic performance. "Dean was brilliant out there. He certainly had our number." This year Dean has a 10-10 record and a 6.15 ERA. |
