Mejia Gets Award for Relief Work

He may only be 21, but Pablo Mejia of the San Francisco (APP) Giants has already established himself as one of the elite relievers in the National League.

The reliever was today named the NL Reliever of the Year winner for 2050.

He won the award with a strong year that saw him put up 39 saves in 55 relief appearances and 87 strikeouts in 66 innings. He had a record of 5-2 to go with his 2.59 ERA.

He received 30 first place votes, as a unanimous winner. Joe Kill of the Philadelphia (APP) Phillies finished second in voting, while Kyle Rindels of the San Francisco (APP) Giants finished third.
