No Playoff Berth Coming for Miami Sunday, September 25th , 2050 It's now time for the Miami Marlins to start turning their attention to what can be done to help improve the club for next season. The team was formally eliminated from playoff contention today for the 2050 season. "We knew a title was a long shot at this point, but mentally there's a big difference between a tiny chance and no chance at all," said Marlins reliever Luis Bautista. Miami last appeared in the postseason in 2041. This is their 9th consecutive year missing the playoffs, and in total they have not advanced past the regular season 46 times in their 58-year history. In the last 10 seasons, the Marlins have missed the playoffs 7 times. Miami has won the World Series 3 times in their history. |
