Athletics Prevail, as Wildcard Series Goes to the Wire Friday, October 7th , 2050 The Oakland Athletics and Boston Red Sox held nothing back in an entertaining Wildcard Series that went the distance. In the end, it will be Oakland advancing to the Division Series, after a 6-5 triumph in the final game at O.co Coliseum, to wrap up the series 2-1. The Athletics players celebrated jubilantly in their clubhouse after the game, while the scene was one of dismay on the opposing side for the Red Sox. Jason May was named series MVP for Oakland. For the series, May hit .833 with a .833 on-base percentage. He had 1 home runs, drove in 1 RBI and scored 3 runs. The Oakland Athletics will play against the Chicago White Sox in the next round.
