Kansas City Advances to World Series Friday, October 21st , 2050 The Kansas City Royals are riding high after winning the League Championship Series and eliminating the Oakland Athletics by a series score of 4-2. The final blow came tonight at O.co Coliseum, when Kansas City secured its spot in the World Series with a 8-7 victory. "It feels good to put them away because we really didn't want to let them crawl back into this series," said first baseman Mike Jaquez, who was named series MVP. "A team like that, you need to bury them when you get the chance." Jaquez certainly helped his team's cause, as he hit .346 with a .393 on-base percentage in the series. He also chipped in 3 home runs, drove in 8 RBI and scored 6 runs. The Kansas City Royals don't know who they will face in the next round. They will play the winner of the Atlanta Braves - San Diego Padres series. Atlanta leads the series 3 games to 2.
