AL's Top Rookie Acclaimed Tuesday, November 15th , 2050 What a season it was for Chicago's Ruben Velasco Jr. in this new star's first year in the American League. He put together a year that earned him the 2050 Rookie of the Year Award. The 21-year-old left fielder crunched some good numbers with a .289 batting average and a .403 on-base percentage to go with his 34 home runs, 92 RBIs and 89 runs scored. He received 30 first place votes, as a unanimous winner. Matsudaira Ikeda of the Boston Red Sox finished second in voting, while Juan Montez of the California Angels finished third.
