Major Deal: Gretzky for Shambaugh Thursday, December 1st , 2050 The Atlanta Braves made a big splash on the sports pages today, agreeing to a major trade with the New York Yankees. The Braves will receive 27-year old LF Russ Shambaugh and a 1st round draft pick in the deal, while the Yankees will get 25-year old CF Erik Gretzky and 20-year old minor league SS Wilson Salgado in return. His career numbers show Gretzky is batting .288 with a total of 69 home runs. During his career, Shambaugh has notched 585 hits and a .240 average with 28 home runs and 197 RBIs. |
