Ame Belts 3 HR Against Rice University Tuesday, October 25th , 2050 Moktar Ame went yard three times in a Fresno State University Bulldogs victory over the Rice University Owls at Reckling Park today. "I was in a groove," he said. "Every pitch they tossed up there looked like a grapefruit." For the day, the Fresno State University center fielder went 4-for-5 against Rice University with 5 RBIs and 5 runs scored in a brilliant display of power hitting that led the Bulldogs to the 18-5 win. "I tell you what. I'm shocked because I didn't think that last ball had enough to get out," he told BNN reporters in the clubhouse following the game. "I thought it was just going to be a long out." Moktar Ame hit an RBI single in the 1st, hit a two-run home run off Shan Ping in the 2nd, hit a solo-shot off Kevin Zimpfer in the 4th, flied out in the 6th, hit a solo-shot off Antonio Ybarra in the 8th and walked in the 9th. Ame is hitting .209 for the season with 10 home runs, 30 RBIs and 27 runs scored. He has 42 hits in 201 at-bats and played in 57 games. |
