Evenson Tosses Shutout Against Bulldogs

Ray Evenson shut down the Fresno State University Bulldogs today, blanking them 4-0 on 3 hits, ringing up 7 strikeouts and allowing no walks. The University of Toronto Marlies pitcher appeared to get stronger as the game went on.
"I don't know if I was getting any stronger," Evenson said after the game. "I feel like my mechanics were getting better. I was able to make some adjustments and get a little more comfortable out there."
To date this year, he has registered 1 save, 4 wins and no losses with a 4.77 ERA. Evenson has made 33 relief appearances, worked a total of 60.1 innings and surrendered 64 hits. He has fanned 41, issued 33 free passes and held opposing clubs to a .276 batting average.

Michaud Stretches Hit String to 20

Philippe Michaud has been ripping hits every day for a while now, and nobody seems able to stop him. The University of Toronto shortstop picked up 2 more today against the Fresno State University Bulldogs and now has a 20-game hitting streak. The Marlies won the game 12-10.
"Definitely somebody's going to stop me at some point," he said later, chuckling. "I'll enjoy it for the time being."
Philippe Michaud struck out in the 1st, struck out in the 3rd, singled in the 5th, walked in the 6th and singled in the 8th.
Michaud currently has a .296 batting average with 128 hits, 9 homers, 49 RBIs, 60 runs scored and a .352 OBP.

20 Games in a Row for Bollinger

Chris Bollinger's hitting streak is becoming the talk of Clemson University. The 17-year-old third baseman extended it once again today, this time bringing it to 20 games with a 3-for-5 performance against the Wichita State University Shockers. The Tigers took the game, 7-3.
"People are starting to bring it up to me when I'm around town," he said. "It's getting stressful."
Chris Bollinger singled in the 1st, grounded out in the 3rd, hit a two-run home run off Pat Nagel in the 5th, hit an RBI single in the 6th and flied out in the 8th.
Bollinger is presently hitting at a .319 pace with 32 home runs and 79 RBIs. He has played in 107 games and scored 75 times.
