20 Games in a Row for Ariza Thursday, December 15th , 2050 The Washington State University Cougars may have proven to be mere mortals today as they lost 2-0 to the University of Michigan Wolverines, but Israel Ariza continued to hit like a god. The first baseman collected 1 hit in 3 at-bats in the loss and extended his hitting streak to 20 games. "Ariza is playing great and is on fire right now," Cougars manager Jonathan Gonzales said. "Hopefully his play can spark the rest of our team and help us pick up some wins." Ariza was apparently not happy with the game and when pressed by reporters in the locker room only said "nothing else matters but the loss." Israel Ariza grounded out in the 1st, singled in the 3rd and struck out in the 5th. This season Ariza is batting .314 with 21 home runs. He has scored 82 runs and driven in 53. |
