Baratta Jacks 3 into the Stands Monday, October 10th , 2050 Fans are still buzzing after Amarillo whipped the Houston Colt .45's by the score of 13-1 today at Colt .45's Stadium. Lucio Baratta smashed three home runs in the contest, a feat that would be a career highlight for most players and few fans ever see. In a tremendous performance, the first baseman bashed out 3 hits in 5 at-bats, had 5 RBIs and scored 3 times. At the postgame press conference, Baratta said it was an "unbelievable" feeling to hit three home runs in a game. "Getting one homer is special, and two is great," Baratta said. "Three is just... wow." Lucio Baratta hit a solo-shot off Joe Sellick in the 1st, grounded out in the 3rd, grounded out in the 5th, hit a solo-shot off Sam Williams in the 7th, hit a three-run home run off Jordan Vasquez in the 8th and walked in the 9th. Baratta is hitting .316 so far this season with 104 RBIs and 92 runs scored. He has 130 hits including 57 home runs, 75 walks and .431 OBP. |
