Kelowna Wins Round 1 Friday, October 21st , 2050 The party is on for Kelowna Heat fans, while disappointment reigns for those fans in Amarillo. The Heat eliminated the Amarillo ThunderHeads in the Round 1 at Andrew Wray Stadium today and will now move on to the Quarter-Finals. "It's a big letdown and not what we want to be feeling," said Amarillo manager Alvare Bairro after the loss. Kelowna won the final game by a score of 2-1 and took the series 4-2. "We want to bring a championship home to our city, that's all there is to it. Everyone wants it badly for themselves, but we want it for Kelowna too," said Dave Trevino, whose strong pitching performances during the series earned him MVP honors. Trevino had a 0.00 ERA over 4 innings during the Round 1. He added 7 strikeouts with a 1-0 record. The Quarter-Finals matchups and schedule will be announced after the Round 1 finishes. |
