Thursday, December 1st , 2050
He may have less experience than most of his Pioneer Baseball League peers, but that didn't slow Carlton Stannard down at all in 2050.
At the age of 20, the Colorado first baseman has been named the winner of the Western League Most Valuable Player Award.
He had a .403 batting average and a .497 on-base percentage this year. In 126 games he piled up 178 hits, 15 doubles, 3 triples, 75 home runs, 136 RBIs and 109 runs scored.
"I'm blown away by the season I was able to put together," he said. "I'm looking forward to trying to do it all again next year."
He received 30 first place votes, as a unanimous winner. Lucio Baratta of the Amarillo ThunderHeads finished second in voting, while Tony Casey of the Roswell Invaders finished third.
