It was high-fives all around for Brandon O'Malley at Detroit Tigers Complex today.

He got them from his teammates and he got them at the plate during an outstanding hitting performance against the Burlington Royals. O'Malley smashed 5 hits in 7 at-bats on his monster day, leading his club to a 22-1 win.

"Brandon was hitting everything," said Tigers manager Melchor Agdeppa. "It really was a special game for him."

In the opposing dugout, Royals manager Henry Villar told BNN beat writers that O'Malley "ambushed" the club.

"Obviously we didn't have much success against him, but we'll have another chance," the skipper said. "Hopefully, O'Malley oversleeps next time."

Brandon O'Malley tripled in the 1st, flied out in the 2nd, hit an RBI single in the 3rd, struck out in the 4th, hit a three-run triple in the 5th, hit a three-run home run off Ted Splawn in the 6th and doubled in the 8th.

O'Malley is batting .269 this year with 11 home runs, 63 RBIs and 92 runs scored. He has 100 hits in 372 at-bats.
