6-for-8 Day for Collins
|
The Great Falls Voyagers stopped the Pulaski Yankees by a score of 33-1 at Centene Stadium today, with the lion's share of the credit going to left fielder Duncan Collins. The 22-year-old had a career day, collecting 6 hits.
"Every batter wants to have a quality at-bat every time he steps up to the plate," Collins said later. "He wants to hit the ball hard."
Collins did just that in his 8 at-bats, much to the chagrin of the Yankees.
"Not much that I can say," offered Pulaski manager Austin Hedges. "He just hammered the heck out of us."
Duncan Collins hit an RBI single in the 1st, singled in the 1st, hit a two-run double in the 3rd, hit a GRAND SLAM off Jessie Neal in the 3rd, grounded out in the 4th, hit a two-run single in the 5th, singled in the 7th and grounded out in the 8th.
This season Collins has delivered 54 hits in 144 at-bats for a .375 average with 12 home runs. He is getting on base at a .513 clip and his totals also include 53 RBIs and 53 runs scored. This year Collins has played in 53 games.
