Vegter Has Hot Hand, Bangs 6 hits
|
It seemed that Texas (APP) center fielder Walter Vegter could do no wrong as the Rangers KO'd the Indians, 38-7 today. Vegter rapped out 6 hits in 9 at-bats and seemed to know which pitches Indians hurlers were throwing.
"I think the Rangers were stealing signs," growled one unhappy Cleveland (APP) fan after the game.
"I just felt good today. I saw the ball well and just wanted to make good contact and put the ball in play," said the jubilant Vegter in the postgame press interview.
Walter Vegter struck out in the 1st, hit an RBI single in the 2nd, grounded out in the 3rd, singled in the 4th, singled in the 6th, hit an RBI single in the 6th, singled in the 7th, grounded out in the 7th and hit a two-run single in the 9th.
In 106 games this season Vegter has batted at a .355 pace with 162 hits and 13 home runs.
