Criollo Batters Burlington for 5 Hits
|
Seattle (APP) Mariners left fielder Ryan Criollo had a day to remember at Mariners Complex today, ripping apart the Burlington Royals and sparking the Mariners to a 15-0 victory.
Criollo wrote his name in the record books with a 5-hit barrage, finishing his special day 5-for-5.
"I'm usually a first ball hitter," Criollo told BNN reporters in the postgame press conference. "I think pitchers think batters are going to let the first one go by. I never do. I've always found that it's better to pull the trigger early in the count. Pitchers get real nasty when they get ahead of you, so I try to avoid it."
Ryan Criollo walked in the 1st, singled in the 2nd, singled in the 3rd, singled in the 4th, doubled in the 6th and hit a two-run triple in the 7th.
Thus far in 2045 Criollo is hitting .304 with 14 home runs, 96 RBIs, 117 runs scored and has compiled a .390 OBP.
