Ponce Sensational, 5-for-7
|
Enrique Ponce put on a hitting clinic today as the Missoula Osprey dumped the Washington (APP) Nationals 32-5 at Ogren Park at Allegiance Field.
The Missoula center fielder made Washington (APP) defenders earn their pay, lashing Washington (APP) pitching for 5 hits in 7 at-bats in the game. He told BNN reporters after the game that his strategy was "just hit it where they pitched it."
"Too often I try too hard to pull the ball," Ponce said in his postgame press conference. "Today, I just went with the pitch."
Enrique Ponce walked in the 1st, hit an RBI single in the 2nd, singled in the 3rd, grounded out in the 4th, singled in the 5th, hit an RBI single in the 6th, struck out in the 6th and singled in the 8th.
This season Ponce is batting .350 with 6 home runs. His totals include 61 RBIs and 62 runs scored.
