McLane Has Hot Hand, Bangs 5 hits
|
There aren't many who could be pro ballplayers and there are even fewer who could put up 5 hits in a day.
Vince McLane is one of those rare few, as he went 5-for-6 against the Ogden Raptors at Lindquist Field today. The monster effort from the 22-year-old right fielder helped the Washington (APP) Nationals take the win, 21-3.
"We made some bad pitches and he took advantage of it," said Raptors manager Chae-ku Jou. "That's the game, though. Don't make mistakes and you'll win ballgames. Make mistakes and, well, you saw what happened today."
Vince McLane hit a solo-shot off Chris Hodge in the 1st, grounded out in the 2nd, walked in a run in the 3rd, singled in the 4th, hit a two-run home run off Gary Salazar in the 5th, hit a two-run single in the 6th and singled in the 8th.
Thus far this year McLane has hit .429 with 7 home runs and 80 RBIs.
