Duran on a Tear, Hits for Cycle Sunday, September 24th , 2045 Jose Duran accomplished one of the rarer feats in baseball today when he hit for the cycle against the Elizabethton Twins in the 14-10 Great Falls Voyagers win at Centene Stadium. Afterward, Duran acknowledged that his accomplishment was special, but said he was more interested in helping the Voyagers win. "Maybe one day I'll look back on this with more meaning, but right now I just want to go out tomorrow and put some good swings on the ball and help my club win another game," Duran said. On his historic day, he went 4-for-5 with 6 RBI and 2 runs scored -- and also got a spot in the history books. Jose Duran singled in the 2nd, hit an RBI double in the 4th, hit a two-run home run off Stefano Traversoni in the 6th, hit a three-run triple in the 6th and grounded out in the 7th. A look at his season totals shows Duran with 9 home runs, .350 BA, .445 OBP, 89 RBIs and 72 runs scored. |
