Morales Slaps 5 Hits
Saturday, October 7th , 2045
Grand Junction shortstop Willis Morales had a big day at Baseball City Complex today against the Chicago (APP) Cubs. The 20-year-old, who is not typically considered a big threat with the bat, went 5-for-7 and led the Rockies to a 29-2 triumph over Chicago (APP).
"Hey, I'm as surprised as you guys are," Morales said in his postgame comments, smiling as he scolded the press corps for underestimating him. "Maybe I'm not so bad at the plate after all."
Willis Morales walked in the 1st, hit a two-run home run off Anastagio Fasola in the 2nd, doubled in the 3rd, flied out in the 3rd, hit an RBI single in the 4th, grounded out in the 5th, singled in the 7th and hit a solo-shot off Eddy Marcos in the 9th.
For the year Morales has hit .406 with 20 home runs, 100 RBIs and scored 132 runs.
