Reyna 5-for-6 Against Pulaski
Thursday, October 12th , 2045
Even as a kid, Luis Reyna said his coaches told him the key to hitting was making contact, and letting everything else flow from there. At Texas Rangers Complex today, Reyna showed how well he learned that lesson.
The 19-year-old first baseman had 5 hits in 6 at-bats for the Texas (APP) Rangers, helping his team knock off the Pulaski Yankees by a score of 28-1.
"They always said, just keep your eye on the ball, don't overswing, make contact and you never know what will happen," he said. "That's all I did today."
Luis Reyna singled in the 1st, hit a two-run double in the 2nd, hit a two-run home run off Jeremiah Walker in the 3rd, doubled in the 3rd, walked in the 4th, singled in the 5th and flied out in the 7th.
In his stats this season, Reyna has posted a batting average of .360 with 195 hits in 541 at-bats, 19 home runs and 122 RBIs. He has also scored 166 runs, walked 54 times and compiled a .438 OBP.
