Blue Jays Lowry Strikes out 15
Friday, October 13th , 2045
Everything was working for Scott Lowry today at Bowen Field. He had the perfect delivery. The ball was moving. The cutter was working.
In an unforgettable performance, the 21-year-old Lowry fanned 15 Royals and sparked the Bluefield Blue Jays to a 28-0 victory over Burlington. He left Royals hitters mumbling and muttering at the plate. And when he needed a strikeout, he got it.
"I don't know if there are many times that I've seen him throw better," said Bluefield manager Murray Yerzy. "His location and command were really something."
In addition to collecting 15 strikeouts over 6 innings, Lowry allowed 2 hits and 1 walk in a superlative outing.
"I thought I'd make it easy on the guys today," Lowry said with a smile.
This year Lowry has compiled a 13-3 record with a 4.06 ERA in 24 starts.
