Fans at Howard Johnson Field got an impromptu firework display today courtesy of Grand Junction Rockies second baseman Ryan Rinaldi. He belted a trifecta of home runs to power his club to victory 18-2 over the Johnson City Cardinals.
In the win, Rinaldi stunned the Cardinals pitching staff for 3 hits in 3 at-bats and knocked in 8 runs.
"It was the best kind of day," Rinaldi said after the game. "I hardly had to work for it. Hitting today was a piece of cake, with lots of extra icing on it."
Ryan Rinaldi walked in the 2nd, hit a GRAND SLAM off Jung-joon Chon in the 3rd, hit a three-run home run off Steve Holmes in the 4th, walked in the 6th, hit a solo-shot off Francisco Galindo in the 7th and walked in the 9th.
