Saturday, October 14th , 2045
Some moments become linked with a particular player's career forever. Tokugoro Adachi of the Detroit (APP) Tigers had one of those moments when he went 5-for-6 at the plate today in the 24-1 win over the Greeneville Astros at Detroit Tigers Complex.
"I won't forget this anytime soon, and I don't expect it to happen too often," the 22-year-old catcher told reporters in the postgame interview. "I'll be happy to just get a hit or two every day. Enough to hang around the league a while longer. Like 10, maybe 15 more years."
Tokugoro Adachi doubled in the 2nd, singled in the 3rd, flied out in the 4th, hit a three-run home run off T.J. Westover in the 5th, singled in the 6th and hit a two-run home run off Dzintars Balodis in the 7th.
This year Adachi has socked 14 hits in 41 at-bats for a .341 average with 4 home runs. He is getting on base at a .451 pace and his totals also include 14 RBIs and 12 runs scored.
