Alvizo on Fire: Burns Johnson City with 3 HR
Saturday, October 14th , 2045
Today was a special one for Henry Alvizo of the Grand Junction Rockies as he slammed three home runs in the 26-2 win over the Johnson City Cardinals.
"Lately, I've been uppercutting the ball too much," he said to sportswriters after the game. "I would hit it hard, but they just went sky high and stayed in the ballpark. No big long outs for me in this game. I leveled out my swing and connected on the sweet spot. I knew they were gone the minute I hit 'em."
The Grand Junction second baseman collected 3 hits in 4 at-bats, drove in 9, and scored 5 runs in the contest at Howard Johnson Field.
Henry Alvizo flied out in the 1st, walked in the 3rd, hit a two-run home run off Jung-joon Chon in the 4th, hit a GRAND SLAM off Daniel Boulter in the 5th, hit a three-run home run off Francisco Galindo in the 6th, walked in the 6th and walked in the 8th.
This year Alvizo is hitting .459 with 96 home runs.
