Marquez Batters Bristol for 5 Hits Monday, October 16th , 2045 It doesn't happen very often, but it did for Omar Marquez today -- a 5-hit effort. He went on a rampage at Ogren Park at Allegiance Field and paced the Osprey to a 29-8 win over the Bristol Pirates. After his dynamite batting performance, the Missoula left fielder told reporters that he "just tried to get in a good count and have a good at-bat. That's all I can control." His philosophy paid dividends today. He slammed 5 hits in 6 tries and put his name in the record book. Omar Marquez hit an RBI single in the 1st, singled in the 2nd, singled in the 3rd, hit a two-run triple in the 4th, singled in the 5th, walked in the 6th and grounded out in the 7th. This year Marquez has socked 111 hits in 262 at-bats for a .424 average with 16 home runs. He is getting on base at a .548 pace and his totals also include 103 RBIs and 97 runs scored. |
