Solberg Strokes 5 Hits
Thursday, October 19th , 2045
After a 5-hit effort to lead Texas (APP)'s 26-1 victory over the Burlington Royals, left fielder Nick Solberg told BNN beat writers it had been "a special day."
"It really doesn't matter whether it's sandlot ball, high school or college, two hits in a game is nice," he said. "Three or four is better, but five or more is out of sight. And to do that at the Appalachian League-level is really something special."
The 22-year-old player earned his accolades today at Texas Rangers Complex with a spectacular 5-for-7 game against the Royals.
"His swing is getting there," said Rangers skipper Dylan Moore, who spoke glowingly of Solberg after the game. "We want him to be quick with his swing, short and compact. We want him to be patient and go the other way when he can. Nick did that to perfection today."
Nick Solberg grounded out in the 1st, singled in the 2nd, singled in the 2nd, flied out in the 3rd, singled in the 5th, singled in the 5th, walked in the 7th and singled in the 8th.
This season Solberg is batting .385 with 135 RBIs, 169 runs scored and 18 home runs.
