Azagba Extends Hit Streak to 20 Games Sunday, October 22nd , 2045 With 1 hit at Lindquist Field today, Mesfin Azagba added another game to his hitting streak -- the Ogden third baseman has now hit safely for 20 games in a row. But the hitting feat wasn't enough for the Raptors today, as they fell, 6-5, to the San Diego (APP) Padres. "Frankly, I don't care about hits," San Diego (APP) manager Robert deGolian said later. "I'll let him get 5 hits in 5 at-bats if it means we get a win." Mesfin Azagba hit a two-run double in the 1st, flied out in the 3rd, grounded out in the 4th, struck out in the 6th and grounded out in the 8th. Looking at his season stats, Azagba has compiled a .407 batting average and a .503 on-base percentage, while hitting 8 home runs and driving in 39 runs. |
