Padres 2B Dill Gets the Cycle Sunday, October 22nd , 2045 Some days, a great game just isn't enough. Devon Dill of the San Diego (APP) Padres found that out the hard way today. Dill had a great day at the plate, pounding out 4 hits in 5 at-bats and hitting for the cycle, but watched the Ogden Raptors take a 22-18 victory. "It is a frustrating feeling to know you did so much and still lost," the 19-year-old second baseman said later. "But it is a feeling you have to get used to if you want to play baseball for very long. It just happens." Dill had 1 single, 1 double, 1 triple and 1 home run, as well as 3 RBI and 4 runs scored in the contest. Devon Dill singled in the 2nd, walked in the 2nd, doubled in the 4th, hit a three-run home run off Alfredo Sanchez in the 6th, grounded out in the 7th and tripled in the 9th. This year Dill is hitting .314 with 5 home runs and 54 RBIs to his credit. He has gotten on base at a .440 clip and scored 69 runs. |
