Matsui Slugs 4 HR Against Voyagers Saturday, October 28th , 2045 An amazing display of power vaulted Taki Matsui and the Seattle (APP) Mariners to victory and into the record books today, as the first baseman hit 4 home runs against the Great Falls Voyagers. Matsui was an unstoppable force for the Mariners in the 18-2 triumph at Centene Stadium. In the postgame interview, Matsui said he started to feel the pressure before his last home run. "I could feel the anticipation from the crowd, the look in my teammates' eyes," he said. "I was already thrilled, but as I stepped in the box I said, please God, let me hit one more." His totals on his history-making day were 4 hits in 5 at-bats with 10 RBIs and 4 runs scored. Taki Matsui walked in the 2nd, hit a three-run home run off Ryan Burson in the 3rd, hit a two-run home run off Frank Gamez in the 5th, hit a solo-shot off Ivan Gaona in the 6th, hit a GRAND SLAM off Alec Guglielmo in the 8th and struck out in the 9th. This year Matsui is hitting .304 with 78 home runs and 206 RBIs to his credit. He has gotten on base at a .463 clip and scored 167 runs. |
