At the age of 25, Dan Johnson says he still has a lot to learn about life in Appalachian League.

But he certainly seems to be a quick study, as the Oakland (APP) Athletics reliever was better than all others this year and has captured the 2045 American League Reliever of the Year.

"I hope to win this a few more times before all is said and done in my career," the
Everett, Washington native said.

For the season, Johnson had 4 saves in 34 relief appearances, which totaled 113. He fanned 123 betters, while walking 26 and put up a record of 11-1 to go with his 1.75 ERA.

He received 30 first place votes, as a unanimous winner. Randall Rennie of the Baltimore (APP) Orioles finished second in voting, while Tim Inman of the Princeton Rays finished third.
