It seems like just yesterday when the offseason began. Now, the World Baseball Championship preseason begins. Teams have started to examine their rosters. Fans will be perusing the 2050 schedule in anticipation of key games.

This year's tournament will be held in the host city of Yuma, Arizona.

The United States's Matt Altieri put the wraps on a fine campaign today by winning the 2050 World Baseball Championship Most Valuable Player.

The 32-year-old veteran scorched the opposition with a .207 average, picking up 6 hits, 1 double, 1 triple, 2 home runs and 4 RBIs, while scoring 11 runs.

He received 12 first place votes out of a possible 16. Jose Pacheco of the Dominican Republic finished second in voting with 3 first place votes, while Lirak Bazhunaishvili of the The United States finished third.
